A video capturing a desperate attempt to steal home to tie the NDA high school championship game on June 14 provides a chance to talk about the sport, including how it’s healthy and growing in North Bay with a strong base plus senior loops… just as girls fastball has been strong. But all the diamond users are facing the same constraint: more umpires are needed.
The action clip attracted a lot of attention, pushing the video to nearly 700 views in its first week, but the rest of the interview is pretty cool as well with both umpires sharing memories of their early days behind the plate and some of the stars and strong teams they saw playing in a variety of parks in the Gateway of the North.
